lanes around Via Giulia and the Pantheon, which is where the walking tours go and the coaches do
not, and it covers the four kilometres out to Testaccio in minutes rather than an hour.
The market hour is the point of it. Mercato Testaccio opens Monday to Saturday from 7:00 to

Where it collects you
At your hotel. Hotel pick-up is in the fare and the time is confirmed with you after
booking, so there is no square to find and no sign to look for. That is the practical difference between this and
the walks, and it is why it suits a party with a stroller, a stick or a tight morning.

Can I do a Testaccio food tour without walking much?
Yes. Do these tours go inside Mercato Testaccio?
Some do and some do not, which is the single most useful thing to check before you book. The market walks spend between thirty minutes and an hour and a half inside it, the golf-cart tours park for an hour, and the Trastevere walks never go near it. Are these tours suitable for children?
Several are, and a few set a minimum age. One private market walk takes all ages with wine served only to over-eighteens, one Trastevere evening gives under-tens a reduced fare and under-fives a free ticket, and one small group is described by its operator as kid-friendly.
